Former Capitals head coach Todd Reirden lists D.C. mansion for $2.25 million

Former Capitals head coach Todd Reirden is wasting no time getting out of Washington after he was fired by the club.

Reirden has listed his D.C.-area mansion for $2.25 million, and it is spectacular. The 6,352-square-foot home includes six bedrooms and eight bathrooms.

On top of that, it comes with an industrial chef kitchen, rec room, home theater, exercise and game room and a walk-in wine cellar. The owner's suite includes walk-in closets, a gas fireplace and a surround sound speaker system.

The outdoor area has a heated pool, kitchen and bar, cabana house and a playground.

The listing of Reirden's home comes after he was hired by the Pittsburgh Penguins as an assistant coach under Mike Sullivan. He previously was an assistant in Pittsburgh under Dan Byslma from 2010-14.

Reirden was fired by the Capitals after the club failed to make it past the first round of the playoffs in two consecutive seasons since winning the Stanley Cup in 2018 under Barry Trotz.
